Phew...Earth day was a lot of work!
Today my team and I worked hard and I am pooped!

We met at a park in Seattle's International District (aka Chinatown) at 8:30 this morning--LOTS of people showed up. Super-nice. We had coffee and did some tai chi, then set to work. It was an absolutely beautiful day, too.

I was on litter detail on the streets under I-5 (oh, how unutterably disgusting--and the smell!) but we also did blackberry removal, grafitti covering, weeding, and replanting. The neighborhood folks were so nice--several elder residents came out and thanked us for our work. (Hey, I'm a "good, nice lady!":D)

Lunch was provided (YAY! Vietnamese tofu sandwich for me!) and there was bingo for the older folks and a scavenger hunt for the local kids. What a great day.

So, hey, if you're a Seattleite, be sure to give the ID a little extra love. The community really came together today--how can you not love that?

Did anyone else do any kind of Earth Day work today?

3. Yes, I know, but 'you' was more personal, and kind of included everyone
in an offhand way :)

5. Is earth day an American or global day?
We have a 'Clean up Australia Day' here anyway, at some entirely different date.

7. Not 'global' per se, but international - you can see some of the
activities in various countries at this page:
