What would happen if... (College football question)
Okay, USC is ranked number one in the coaches and media poll. So they will be playing in the Rose Bowl on January 1 against Michigan. And LSU will play Oklahoma in Sugar Bowl.

What if USC beats Michigan. And Oklahoma beats LSU.

Would a team (Oklahoma) that didn't win their conference championship be national champs?

Would a team (USC) that is the PAC 10 champions and defeated the Big 10 champions become national champs?

Would they share the title?

I forsee a lot of trouble.

1. They would probably split the title
USC would have a strong possibility to take the AP title. The Coaches would be obligated to vote for the BCS victor in their poll.

2. What if the winner of the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl...
...played each other a couple of weeks later. A true championship game.

3. If USC is #1 in the ap and espn polls
and they play in something other than the national championship game, whoever came up with the algorithm for this bcs crap should be declared an enemy combatant, and sent to guantanamo with the al qaeda, taliban, and swarthy looking kids we kidnapped in afghanistan.

4. The BCS champion is
whoever wins the Sugar Bowl.

And, in polls where human opinions count, USC is the champion unless they lose the Rose Bowl.

Go figure that one out.
