Worst movie ever?
My wife and I rented Rob Zombie's "House of 1,000 Corpses" and I see why he lost several distributors for it in production. It is the WORST movie I've ever seen, even worse than "Attack of the Clones". There was no point to it, lots of weird snippets of unrelated footage edited in, and a weird amalgamation of the story lines of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "The People Under the Stairs". God, it was embarassingly awful. I can't believe someone signed off on the production of this crap.

Featured a very young Harry Hamlin but I wanted to leave the theater. The person I was with objected so I suffered through it.

Or something like that. An MST3000 movie that is unbearable even with the robots making snappy comments about it!

34. Oh, lordy, I agree!
When even the Misty treatment can't make a movie bearable, you KNOW it's bad!

Some runner's up:

Showgirls
Armegeddon
The Patriot

41. Bingo!

Even with Joel and the 'bots making their usual smart-ass comments, that film was unbearably painful. As I gaped incredulously at the TV screen, I kept thinking, "Someone actually bothered to make this film!"

4. Not sure if you are a horror fan, but I liked it...
I can see where it was derivative, but what isn't any more especially in the horror genre. I knew some horror purists who hated it too, but personally I thought it was stylish, campy, and scary in parts.

Oh well, differences of opinion are what makes the world go around.

6. The Man With Two Heads
An unbelievably bad flick. Old actor Ray Milland has the head of Roosevelt Brown (former football player) grafted onto his neck. The scenes of this white man running around with a clearly fake black head coming out of his neck are hilarious.

10. Let's see, I think it's called "Gerry"
with Matt Damon - trudging through the desert for two hours. The most boring, BORING movie ever created. We just watched it last week, and through the whole thing, my husband and I kept asking each other why we were watching it. We kept hoping something would happen, but let me save you the rental charge, and tell you that NOTHING HAPPENS THROUGH THE ENTIRE MOVIE!!!

was the worst, though it's pretty much a tie between 17,432 other movies made in Hollywood that feature pretty faces that can't act, insipid dialog, crass and crude morals, and that glorify violence and phony machoism.

The Unbearable Lightness of Being -- six hours of soft-core for yuppies with literary pretensions. Yawn.

I expected so much I guess that it delivered nothing. I'm an old seaman (no laughing) and although I found it historically correct the movie lacked any of the zip I expected. My daughter and I went to see it together, and her remark was "there were no women in it". Women weren't prevalent in Her Majesty's Navy during the period, but surely there could have been some sort of sub-plot that could have introduced a feminine character. In short, it was "Titanic" with sails and no women.

29. Huh?
Are movies now somehow required to put in female characters simply to throw a bone to a sector of the audience? Have movie audiences become so conditioned to the requisite, often forced romances written into movies that we're disappointed if a movie doesn't have one? There's a damn good reason "Master and Commander" received high marks: it was a well-acted, engrossing movie. Anyone who says this was the worst movie of all time both has no concept of what makes movies good or hasn't seen enough bad movies to know just how horrible they can get.

26. I've said it before, I'll say it again:
Doom Generation, directed by Greg "Look at me, look at me!" Araki.

Terrible acting, stupid plot supposed to shake up the borgeois sensibilities of the "straight world", shock-value violence, and just utter garbage.

A close second: Saturn 3. Seventies Sci-fi version of Frankenstein, set in outer space. Particularly horrible is Kirk Douglas' flabby bare ass. What is it with the Douglas men and their eagerness to moon the movie-going public?!

Runner up: Moulin Rouge. Blech!

The worst movie to ever have a significant budget. An even worse adaptation of a horrendous novel, Battlefield Earth has a ridiculous plot, horrendous over-the-top acting, terrible costumes and cinematography that first-year film students could have done much better. If you think a film was worse than "Battlefield Earth", then you haven't seen "Battlefield Earth."
