3. Well, 16 ounces of nut
brings a hefty payout at the sperm bank for the right candidate.

Okay, that was wrong. It's late. I plead...uh...stupidity?

9. Probably because of the process involved
with making them edible. Cashews are one of the very few nuts that could potentially make you very ill. If you see most other nuts, most of them have either that "skin" over them or are sold in their shell. The "skin" of a cashew is poisonous, and they have to make sure that when they are packed for distribution that the skins are completely and totally removed before they can be packaged.

See here for a great article:

10. I found out
that the nut part grows at the bottom of this pulpy fruit, and the Brazilians drink the juice of that fruit-- it's sort of like peach or banana juice, with this undertone of the flavor of the nut. How do they avoid the poison?

11. A cashew is a seed, not a nut.

12. Probably grown in some "exotic" location...
e.g. a hydroponic center some place... and the costs to breed the nuts is high.

And Hawaii or whichever country can do it naturally just can't make enough nuts on its own.
