1. Happy 50th! Next stop, the gastroenterologist...
All in all, I'd rather have the AARP letter. I'll get mine this year, too. :eyes:

3. I've been carded once since I turned 18
(18 was the drinking age a hundred years ago when I was a teenager).

I was in my 30's and when the guy asked for my ID, I brightened right up and said, "Oh! Thank you!"

He said, "Yeah, well, we card anyone who looks like they're under 50." :grr:

The world's a cruel place, Oeditpus - haven't you realized that yet?

The least that guy could have done is give you a wink or a smile. Why be such an arse about it?

7. Yup
But when it smacks me upside the birth certificate, it seems especially cruel.

My brain's still 18, dammit!

4. No offense,
but I get them all the time.

I have no idea what I did to get on their list, but I started getting them in my twenties. No what does that mean?!

13. I've gotten one from them since I was about 19.
I don't know how they find you, LOL. On and off since 19 I've been sent stuff from them.

I mean, I know I ACT like I'm 77 but I'm not even 30 yet!

16. Somehow I slipped through the cracks with AARP.
Not that I am complaining. :)

A friend returned her registration form with a note requesting that they stop harassing her. They did.

17. Wait, there's more ....
Catalogues filled with geezer stuff -- support hose, incontinent supplies, long handled toe nail clippers, etc. It's bizarre.

Have you started to make the grunting sounds when you sit down or stand up?

Something got mixed up somewhere. It sure made approaching 30 suck even worse than it did. :grr:

22. How about this, OR? My mother BOUGHT my first year's
membership for my 50th birthday! She had a grand old laugh about that (I just turned 50 last October). But you know what, their monthly magazine is actually pretty cool. Believe me, today's AARP folk just ain't what you'd think.

(And no beatin' up on my mom for getting me that membership!)
