Just had this e-mail exchange
with reyd reid reed:

She: "Between rain and mudslides and earthquakes...why is it that y'all live out there again?"

Me: "For the weather."

4. Which weather?

You've been talking about rain for what seems like forever. How long is your rainy season?

5. Not *this* long
It's usually over by mid-March. Starts in November or December, but we don't get much until February — just in time for high school and college baseball and softball. x(

Average annual rainfall is only about 18 inches.

9. Psssst:

He says "eighteen inches." In guyspeak, "eighteen inches" is really nine inches.

10. Not exactly
"Nine inches" is "six inches."

If a guy says he's got 18 inches, he's talking about his woofers.

And why are we whispering?

13. We are whispering because...

...we are discussing something related to s-e-x, and I am a shy and demure young lady. Easily embarrassed and all that, you know.

14. And *now* we're whispering because
the louder the bullshit, the worse it smells.

6. "Winter"
Is usually from early November to meh... Aprilish...

It's usually cool and rainy, but typically we'll get a storm and then it will be nice for a day or two then we'll get another storm and that pattern continues all winter.

But this winter we've had 2 sunny breaks since the new year. :(
