2. Unfortunately, most men
don't know anything about perfumes or shoes or ... things like that. Sorry, I guess if I were married I would know that sort of thing. Well, no, I didn't know that when I was married either.

Not being sexist here, its just that most guys don't know that sort of thing.

I like very little perfume on a woman. You might get something that has a soft, clean scent that is not overpowering. Avoid perfumes you think the Soprano women might wear. And I only want to smell it when we're close.

We know to wear ones that are foot-shaped.

3. You should never smell the perfume on a woman
unless you're right up next to them. Then it should be a scent the woman likes and thinks represents her. Men don't know perfume names...unless they're James Bond.

Each woman i've spent a significant time in my life with has had a different scent.

Personally I like a lavender.

7. MY hubby picks the best scents for me--he's got a very sensitive
nose and great taste.

His favorites for me:

Thierry Mugler--Angel
Gucci--Rush
Chanel--Coco, Coco Mademoiselle

As to sexy, I think the sexiest is Gucci Rush--it turns us BOTH on.

9. Jo Malone 154
This fragrance is irresistible on women and men. It's a sensual peak experience - and 99.9% of the time, I hate perfumes. Ah, but this stuff - mmm... :)

28. Along that line, a study few years back said smell of pumpkin pie
was the scent that most effectively aroused men. Many seem to like single spice scents like clove, cinnamon, ginger, or vanilla... which all add up to Pumpkin Pie!

Heliotrope also seems a favorite of many males. Think baby powder, the smell is about the same.

I've gotten really good feedback (i.e. hit on by both men and women: "What is that smell?" or "Damn you smell good!" :D) wearing Jean Paul Gaultier's fragrance for women. A little pricey, so I save it for special occasions usually, but very nice.

21. OK, so I'm not a guy, but...
...I wear Sensi by Giorgio Armani. This is ME in a bottle! It's not heavy or cloying, and I have had more than one man tell me it's very sexy. ;) I don't go overboard when wearing it, and it's extremely subtle. It's a light warm oriental floral (whatever that means, lol!). I'm a fragrance junkie, and I've been through a lot of them, but this is the only one I've ever bought again and again.

22. I have no friggin clue which perfume smells like what.
I might like the smell, but I have no idea what its named.

Further, I think a good smelling shampoo matters a whole lot more. Nothing sexier than smelling a woman's hair.

23. while i can't tell you anything
about brands, etc, I will say this.

the key is not the perfume, but application. Guys (and by guys I mean me :D) don't like perfume levels that you can smell across the room. I prefer it to be just enough that when the wearer walks past, there's a faint whiff that gets to you.

24. This is how I instructed my son to wear cologne
It should be ever so faint, so that when a woman gets just the slighted whiff of it, she wants to get closer to smell a little more.

25. and, believe me
when you live with guys who don't know how to wear cologne, it's hell. every friday night, the 9 other guys in my suite collectively use about 5 gallons of cologne. Sometimes I get seriously worried about passing out...

27. If you're in Los Angeles, head to Fred Segal and ask for their Girl
perfume.

There is nothing that drives men MORE wild than Girl. It's exclusive to FS.. $50 for a roll on bottle, and a little goes a LONG way. Flowers, musk, patchouli, jasmine, orchids, all in one with wonderful deep tones and spectacular light ones.

I'm a Chanel woman myself, relegated to Coco and Chance for eons. Girl is the only new fragrance I've deemed worthy to add to my repertoire.

PS.. I got the tip from a VERY highly paid teevee/movie star when I was on the set with her a couple years back. She smelled delightful and I asked her what it was, and voila....
