Did many searching hippies/60's children turn to Scientology?

I read an interesting article about how membership in newer, less mainstream religions increased dramatically in the 70's as former hippies looked for a new direction and other people began to look beyond the old establishment churches. Mormonism grew a lot starting in the 70's, along with some others.
