I have a great life. How is YOUR life great?
I am sitting here in my home, ALL ALONE, and enjoying each and every second immensely. I so rarely get time in the home by myself and certainly NOT a whole weekday night home alone, either. Gawd, what a treat!!! :bounce:

The hubby and our 9 yr old dtr took a fun road trip to LA for a Father/Daughter w/e and I was left with our 12 yr old son for a fun Mother/Son w/e. They get back tomorrow night. My son and I have been having a great time, just the two of us. It's really sweet to have some quality, one-on-one time with your kid, lemme tell ya. It's a precious gift.

Happily, my mother, good old "Grandma", offered to take my son tonight for a sleepover. (Well, basically he invited himself over. heheheh.) And I am totally thrilled to be having this time to MYSELF, to do whatever the hell I want, to sleep in in the morning, not have to talk to anyone, fix anyone meals, etc..

I can't tell you how happy I am to be here, in this moment. I LOVE my family with all my heart and yet I love, Love, LOVE, with every fiber in my soul, quality ALONE TIME. It's one of the best gifts I can receive and I am so grateful.

So, that's me, in this moment....and 24 comes on in less than 15 minutes! :D Life is good, friends, life is Good.

What makes YOUR life great??

1. Summer's about a month away.
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 11:00 PM by deadparrot
I get to work a summer job that I love.
I get to go home on Friday.
Baseball season's starting.
I'm going to Chicago (to see "Wicked" and "Spamalot") and Kansas City (to see the Cardinals play the Royals) in May.
My croupy cough is finally going away.

:bounce:

Though I really wish this week (month, really) would hurry up and end. :hi:

8. It's hard to see why it's NOT great.
I have smart, healthy, amazing children. I am marrying a wonderful man (and a peace with the former man in my life who cause me a lot of heartache in years past). I have a mind that works well. I mostly enjoy my job and I have much better career opportunities opening up soon. I have a healthy body. I'm still young. My needs are more than met in every respect and I am beyond grateful for everything.

9. I love alone time, too -
I dig the shit out of my husband, my daughter is my best friend (I was her matron-of-honor in her wedding), she gave me the most wonderful granddaughtet last year, I live in the country on 5 acres in an awesome log home, I'm healthy, happy and most importantly - serene.
But - alone time still rocks! Enjoy it!

And it's not close.

I'm very, very lucky, and I realize that every waking moment.

29. It's easy to answer this one!
My daughters, my husband, my friends! Right now, we are planning our summer vacation. We are going to Germany again, for a week, with side trips to Austria and maybe the Czech Republic. Then we are going to Florida, then Georgia, then Oklahoma. Travel is one of my favorite things on earth, and I get to do it now.

I think the life we are able to provide to my daughters with right now is a great thing. They have friends from around the world and they are both learning two languages beides English. My youngest daughter has two close friends in school, one with a family from Iran, and one with a family from England and Iraq. My oldest daughter's teacher told me that Ana doesn't seem to think of herself as very different from her Arab, Pakistani and Indian classmates. They both have an understanding of multi-culturalism most Americans their age just can't have. With all the misunderstandings in this world between cultures, I'm so glad we can do this for our daughters.

33. My life is great too.
I have a wonderful daughter who says the same of me. Plus she says it often, in more ways than I can count.

I have a roof over my head that is paid for. A fully stocked pantry & freezer. Every closet in this house is full of my clothes, which is saying something since I live alone in a 3 bedroom house.

I have an abundance of love, shelter, food & clothing. What more could I possibly need?

I have been blessed for sure.

35. I survived a grave illness.....
I have been to hell and back.... (I worked for a republican for about a year.... EWWWWW)...

But most of all, I have grown to love many people....

And for once in my zig zaggy bounce off what ever is in my way life up until about two years ago, I have people, good sane people, telling me how much they love me...

I look back on a life, so far, that was dominated by false starts, addiction problems and many many many missed opprotunities and I realize I am just getting started....

I can still make a difference and now that I have tempered my approach to life, I see what I have to offer and what I can give back in return for all the good that has flowed my way over the years...

So momma, before we meet again in the great beyond, I can honestly say I will make you proud....

36. the only time my life is great
is when I have Sugar Frosted Flakes for breakfast.
They're grrrrrrreat!!

Yesterday was pretty fun because it was take your ipod to work day! Today did not have the same magic though because I only got to use the ipod for the last half of the day and I was rushed on account of a co-worker calling in sick and the need to leave two hours early to cover the staff meeting. Plus today's random song selection did not seem as good - the ipod seemed to get stuck on a KISS kick, playing about seven in a row before I finally did a fast forward. Probably I need to make some playlists.

Maybe now you can write a book. Or at least get involved with someone else who is more in sync with you and won't pull that kind of crap. About half of all marriages end in divorce. You're free now. Just a phase.

The hardest part is that I love her and I don't want her to leave. But she is not willing to listen to me. She has been coming to the home we shared when I am at work and been cleaning out all her things. She took all the wedding photos that didn't have me in them. I really am a wreck about this.

39. All Life is Suffering.
Life is good because I don't live in some 3rd world country. My husband enjoys and understands my idiosyncracies. I don't have to depend on some 'bible' to tell me what to do and how to think. The earth will be around forever so I don't have to worry about making too much of an impact, which very few people can do. I can help people with their struggles. I have a roof over my head. I learn more about the world almost on a daily basis. I learn more about the evils of some human beings and am glad I'm not one of them and try to help out as I can. I'm not a candidate for one of the early morning talk shows. I have few addictions. I have a job with insurance unlike 40 million others. I don't have to have 2 jobs to make ends meet. I'm healthy.

after years of depression my daughter is doing well. My wife is wonderful and my best friend. My son loves what he is doing and will be home for the weekend. I like my boss a lot, he puts a lot of trust in my decisions. And its warm enough to go sit on the porch, sit at the bar and listen to some music.
