...in my mad-scientist laboratory, you'll see carboys representing 30 bottles of white wine, 30 bottles of red, and 70+ bottles of strawberry wine from scratch.

If I had a wide angle shot, you'd see on the left, 60 more bottles' worth of red, and on the right you'd see about 80 bottles of various other types of wine.

270+ bottles. Yikes. Things have gotten a little out-of-hand lately. :blush:

3. Have you done any from scratch?

Most of these are from kits, except for the strawberry. (Last year's batch was sooo good, I did a double batch this year.) I also made some blackberry wine last year. It was all right, but the payoff wasn't worth the effort.

especially beer. I like to do the mashing myself-it gives me more control over the final result.

The commercial stuff makes me feel bloated, and I assume it's just a characteristic of any beer.

But you're right about doing it from scratch. There's nothing more satisfying than that.
