So children in restaurants are bad? Try teenage girls!
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 08:59 PM by EstimatedProphet
Tonight we had the exquisite experience of going to a Mexican restaurant with momma and 2 teenage girls. The teenagers spent all night pretending to not understand Spanish so that the waiter would give them more attention, then they fawned and giggled LOUDLY at everything. Momma could have tried to enforce some order, but she was yoo busy pinching the waiter's butt and gigling herself.

On edit: they weren't with us, they were just there. Poorly described by me originally.

1. Teenaged girls ANYWHERE
Can be a nightmare. Especially if there's a boy in the vicinity.

I didn't act like that when I was a teenager. Of course, my mother would've slapped me into the next room -- publicly -- if I had.

Or at least I believed it.

Tends to keep a girl's hormones -- hidden, at least.

2. My mom would have slapped the taste out of my mouth if I acted
all boy crazy in public like that.

Thank goodness for my mom teaching me some decorum.

3. You had a mother that taught you respectful behavior
It's hard to teach kids that, when their parents are pinching waiters on the butt.

10. Especially a cute boy or very attractive man.
The mother was grabbing the waiter's ass? I wouldn't dream of grabbing my husband's ass in public let alone a complete stranger.

4. We were eating at the mall on Thursday night...
and the girls behind us were just yackitty shmackitty the entire time. At one point, I asked my friend who was with me, "Is she even taking a breath? She was talking so fast, it made me wonder if she had suddenly developed that Kenny G Circular breathing technique.

16. My daughter is five
and has more respect for wait staff than that.

Maybe she's already realized that's how she will be paying for her college education.

11. I was with a friend in a Starbucks one evening
A few tables away sat four teenage girls with their drinks. Three of them were talking in normal tones, but every few moments the fourth would say in a piercing tone, "SHUT UUUUP". So it would be the buzz of normal conversation for a few seconds to a minute, then "SHUT UUUUP". After about five or so minutes of this I was severely itching to ask her to take her own advice.

14. Teenagers ARE Children
They crap their pants less often than younger children, but they are children nonetheless.

15. Remember that 40 is the new 30 so that means
20 is the new 10. So that could explain a lot. Also modern science has proven that human brains aren't really fully developed until age 21 so that explains a lot also.
