1. Raw Onions and anything
I like cooked onions just fine, but any kind of raw onion (including leeks and green onions) is just repelent.

18. Cooking them gets rid of the objectionable part of their flavor
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 09:18 PM by DinoBoy
When they're cooked they are kind fo sweet, when uncooked, they're terrible.

2. Pie with whipped cream; or pie with merengue
Esp. if the whipped cream is that petroleum based Cool Whip shit.

11. what about cheese and apple pie?
merengue isn't my favorite but I can eat it. No problem with (real) whipped cream! Ice cream is good but my real fave with pie is a glass of ice cold milk.

19. I don't like the cheese on apple pie, either.
Tankfully, that's not in my tradition. But then, if it were in my tradition, I might like it. I rememebr the first time I had it - I bet I was in college. Didn't like it.

But then, if it's a European-originally tradition, I bet it's done with good cheese, not the cheap processed shit that I was served. Perhaps an aged Gouda or a nice Old Amsterdam or Gruyere would be tasty.

8. I hear that.
I can eat them plain but keep them out of my food please.

Same with olives, which I REALLY love by themselves (raisins not so much) just keep them out of the food.

23. Cereal with milk.
I hate it, I've always hated it, and I always will hate it. Milk turns almost all cereal into papier mache. I used to be forced to eat it when I was real little. I remember a traumatic experience where I was at preschool, and we were having breakfast, and I was physically forced to eat it. I remember a lot of crying, that's for sure. I like cereal, don't get me wrong. But I like to eat it just as God made it. Not soggied up by milk.

You don't consume milk from a bowl. We're not cats, for God's sake.

26. I can do oatmeal
but yeah, regular cereal - goes in the same category as soggy bread :puke:

I really can't even eat it dry anymore - amazing how forcing a kid to eat something does NOT work.

32. eww I thought I was the only one!
Pork and apple sauce - :puke:

Cranbery and poultry - :puke:

Pineapple, raisins, fresh grapes, ok by themselves, but mixed - :puke:

from http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1216/is_n4_v187/ai_11269528 :

FRUIT AND MEAT HAVE been acquainted for centuries, but thier relationship has blown hot and cold. In late medieval and Renaissance times, they frequently appeared together, and, in the form of mencemeat (which once actually had meat in it), they formed a perfect union.

Over the years they grew apart and seldom saw each other except for the mandatory pineapple rounds on baked ham, the grapes in chicken Veronique, and the cranberry sauce with turkey. Of course, Polynesian cooking was different; South Sea islanders put fruit salad on everything, or so some restaurants believe.

Of late, modish cooking has rediscovered the meat-and-fruit combination, and we are only mildly surprised to find a veal chop resting in a blueberry puree or lamb with black currants. Falling right in step, Frank Doherty supplements the sweetness of his roast pork with figs and dates, as well as with the familiar apple.

Then follows the recipe and also one for Duck L'Orange :puke:
