Alright, I've got a gripe about pants!

Alright, I've got a gripe about pants!
I just bought a couple pairs of pants and I have noticed a patten that annoys me greatly.

Why the hell do pants makers make the button hole as fucking small as possible? The holes are so small that you have to take great care to line the button up perfectly with the minuscule hole and squeeze like hell to get it through. That would be way too much of a hastle if I had to do it every time I went to the can, so I have just been cutting the holes wider with a knife. Eventually though the hole starts to fray and I have to get a new pair. This has happened with the last five or six pairs of pants I have purchased and I have bought numerous makes so I know it isn't just the brand.

What the hell is the deal?
