1. Other, as in None
I hated this movie, and I love the Coens. This one ranks near the bottom with Barton Fink.

6. No way...
Boring as hell. And not very funny. If I had to pick a character, it would be John Tuturro's. But they didn't do much with that character. Jeff Bridges was lame; Goodman, who is usually funny, wasn't. It was a nothing movie for me. Their best are: Miller's Crossing, Raising Arizona, Fargo and Blood Simple, imo.

7. Barton Fink was about
a writer (John Tuturro) who gets brought out to Hollywood to write a script, but finds that he can't do it (the story takes place in the 30's). He stays at some run-down hotel where he basically slips into madness (John Goodman shows up as some sort of Satan-like character). It's an interesting movie, but ultimately it doesn't work. Lebowski is just plain dull.

16. Manco is pretty close on the basic plot
It's an example of "old school" Coen, not too over the top, just enough. Kinda like Intolerable Cruelty. Anyway, check out Barton Fink, it's a big fav. of mine, but I really like Goodman's performance and it was a big break for John T.

It won Palme D'Or unanimosly at Cannes (rare), so all you naysayers can shove it. IMO, it's the Coen's third best film, behind Liebowski and Blood Simple.

Dan Conner was also my favourite character on "Roseanne".

24. Walter damn near stole the movie
The Dude had to keep him in check though. I'd trust Donny with escorting me to the money exchange before I'd trust Walter. I'd hang out with Walter though but I'd have to check to see if he was packin' though.
