My heart is pounding, and my hands and knees are shaking!

I'm typing this from my workplace. I just got back from making a delivery run in the snow and feel lucky to be alive!

My delivery vehicle just spun out on the freeway. I wasn't going particularly fast, but you don't need to be going fast for something potentially disastrous to happen to you in this kind of weather.

Thankfully, I'm an experienced driver and knew exactly what to do when I felt the rear end careen. Factor that in with the other motorists keeping as much distance as possible between their respective cars, and neither I nor the delivery vehicle was harmed. But it was a goddamned frightening few seconds I just had!

OK, I'm going home now, and I'm not leaving my apartment again until Monday morning.

1. Glad you're OK!
Be careful going home!

It's already bad here in Boston, too!

2. A *crash* course in winter driving!
Sometimes it takes a moment to get those instincts back in order...

Glad nothing happened.

3. Be careful
I know you will. Sheesh, that is frightening! I can't drive in bad weather like that - makes me a nervous wreck. Take care of yourself!

5. woah
That sucks. I've spun out many a time in winter driving. And to be honest, I'm gonna risk it again today when I go out to do shopping.

Glad you're okay. :D

6. I know how you feel
While driving on the freeway in Seattle, I had spun a 180 (due to rain, not snow) in dense traffic and ended up being on the shoulder facing the wrong god damned way! It took me about 20 minutes for the mini heart attck to subside :-)

Luckily, the freeway I was on was actually regualted at its beginning by a stop light (for those interested, it's SR 520 in Redmond), so there was a space where I could enter traffic and turn myself around.

7. Whoa Night Train!
Glad you're okay. I remember those days in Chicago and I can tell you, that's one reason I'm hesitant to move back. It can be very scary.
