What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an astronaut or a princess.

I can fly a plane, but that's as close as I got. The princess thing isn't looking good either.

22. As a kid, I wanted to be a "Roach Coach" driver...
...That didn't work out. Then, the center fielder for the Bosox, which kinda went away when I got to college and realized that everyone was as good or better than me. Then, a doctor, but the reality of not being allowed to spend 8 years on academic probation set it. So, a network engineer in the Military seemed like as good a gig as any.

business and one would come every day and the driver would give me a cup of Jello. He was my hero (because I love jello) so
I wanted to be him.

28. A jock.
Baseball player, quarterback, track star.

Weighted 135 pounds in college; couldn't put a pound on no matter how much I ate (or drank!). So, who's afraid of a skinny football player (I could throw a football 60 yards)? Started college as a phys ed major, journalism minor (sports of course). Flunked out twice (my goal should have been growing up!). Finally made it with a math degree. Go figure.

Writer is one of the loneliest, most frustrating jobs ever.

True.... it's all I ever wanted to be. But it's lonely,it's frustrating, it's boring, it's anger-making.....But when the words flow.... it's bliss.

57. A horse person.
Not a mixture of horse and human but rather a person who worked with horses -- maybe a trainer or something like that. But I had one too many close calls with horses -- you realize how quickly you can be thrown to the ground, kicked, run away with, have a horse refuse a jump and you go over the head, etc. etc. Fear of mortality or paralysis has kept me away from horses for awhile now. You can't be afraid and still be around them.
