3. Wait...
this is a joke, right? I mean, they're not really going to put Reagon on the dime and take off FDR, are they? Please tell me we're not going to let them do this!

5. I heard on NPR yesterday that this came about from the Regan biography
I had heard of it before but I didn't know what brought it up. Some Repube yahoo (from Indiana I think) must have had this laying around his office and he introduced it or is talking about introducing it next year. Something like that. No this is for real and real sad.

8. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

If this happens, I'm going to petition to stop it. I will be petty and childish and refuse to carry dimes in my wallet, or take them from cashiers. I can't believe this. FDR saved this nation. What did Reagan ever do, but rape the treasury, put us trillions in debt and make idiocy acceptable in the White House? This is unreal.

9. The FDR dime is a tribute to polio victims everywhere
FDR was placed on the dime as a tribute to the March of Dimes, an organization that raised funds that helped find the polio vaccine. To take off his portrait from the dime is a slap in the face to all those who suffered and survived polio, and to all those who raised funds to help Jonas Saulk find the vaccine.

12. Don't you have to be dead to be on US currency?
Isn't wishing for a Reagan coin simply rushing the death of their icon?

14. Well, technically, he has been brain-dead since 1980....
Edited on Sat Dec-06-03 11:38 AM by rustydog
But having him on a dime would be appropriate...he is the reason so many millions of people were on the street saying: "hey man, can you spare a dime?"

He should be on a wanted poster simply for the thousands who died of Aids and Reagan said and did NOTHING.

His Presided over the most corrupt Administration in history, but I think Dubya has surpassed Reagan's "Legacy". It doesn't matter how loud the Repugnants scream, the world knows Ronnie sucked as a president.
I love how Republicans try so hard to honor mediocrity.

13. Got this from a friend on another board ........
"Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s “trickle down economics.”

The Repugs can spin & dance all they want, but I think they only have two chances of getting this to come to pass. Slim & None!
