2. I have a BA in psychology, an AA in social science and AA in paralegal
I have extensive retail sales experience, retail management experience, lots of campaign experience (6 years worth, including a failed town council run), and human service experience working with "at risk" teens and poverty reduction (except my own poverty, lol), as casework with at risk families. I have also sub taught for a couple years.

I am a hard worker and I communicate well with others. I have extensive counseling and mediation (dispute resolution) experience.

I am currently looking for campaign work, casework (ideally with poor families or with juvenile delinquents), or sales work with progressive companies. I am also looking in to retail - target, starbucks, or citgo.

Thanks for your kick/ reply ohiosmith. Peace and low stress.

3. if you're using yahweh as a reference
he tends to badrap people, and nobody really believes in him, anyway.

4. you mean YHWH?
I think that is who I am looking out for... What do you mean "badrap"? Call me home or find me work! And I want a girlfriend too. I bet YHWH doesn't run a hook up place, does he?

5. if you were catholic
mary does respond to those queries.

voudoux is a better bet, Maitresse Bridgette or Erzulie are your best hookups. might cost you a bottle of rum & a rooster. (an interesting aside is that M. Bridgette is a borrowing from the catholic pantheon, St. Bridgit, into the voodoo pantheon)

"badrap" or "bad-rap" archaic hippy slang. yhwh, actually pronounced "yahweh" instead of the xian "jehovah" (their attempt to distance themselves from a tent-dwelling fertility-god) wd rather turn you into a pillar of salt than help you get a job. he is, after all, a "god of wrath".

8. yes, verb
badrap: 1. to refer to some1 in a demeaning manner 2. to falsely accuse another to the police, in order to procure favors!

somewhat sorry if i've offended you. i'm stridently atheistic, but find ALL belief-systems quaintly interesting.

if you're a practicing catholic, perhaps a "novena" will help w/ 1 or both your goals.

10. no offense at all... I am a Joesph Campbell Catholic :-)
Somewhat sorry! lol:)

If you have time, take a look at the link in my sig line. I would love for an atheistic to write a letter on behalf of Saint Mary's. While the Catholic church gives me much to be angry about, in my little corner of Newburgh, NY, we are really working toward community and the reduction of poverty.

I don't know what a novena is (sounds like a prayer to Mary). Please reply if you know or I will ask my priest tonight (we have a "save the church" meeting tonight.

Thanks jukes. Peace and low stress...

11. Off the top of my head
Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 03:28 PM by laheina
Isn't a novena where a Catholic says one or more decades of the Rosary on nine consecutive days? There are also different formulas for different occasions.

I usually just do all of the mysteries in one pass.

on edit: maybe just a prayer done on 9 consecutive days. For more than you ever wanted to know, see here: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11141b.htm

12. Thanks for the post and the info.
I generally say Hail Mary's and Our Fathers throughout the day to help me deal with anxiety that plagues me. I feel better after I say a prayer.
When I see threads like Robbs dead dog thread (rip Bodhi), I usually say a "Hail Mary", then post "My prayers are with you. Peace and low stress."

I am going to a meeting at my church tonight. I'll ask about it there.

Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 04:12 PM by jukes
from the days when the roman church wasn't attacked as much for "idol" worship by fundamentalist xians.

a "novena" involved lighting a candle to the virgin for 7 nights straight, saying an "ave" after lighting the candle, then explaining your need to mary. old-timie catholics swore it was infallible.

i noted your "save my church" thread earlier, but didn't peek. i'll search it, but can't promise to write. promise i'll look y consider, though.

EDIT: i meant to type "9 days", i type as well as xian teens practice abstinence!
