I'm bored, here's a drawing

It's the first drawing in the lovely sketchbook that Heidi and Call Me Wesley gave me for my birthday. :)

(The head seems a little small, but whatever.)

4. I assume you meant to reply to primate1, not me.
otherwise, you kind of freaked me out, cuz I'm balancing my check register right now, and I DO have a "blank expression" on my face! heheheh.

LOL.

3. I like that.
I didn't see any problems with the head...unless I'm the one with visual issues! Please stick with it - we'd love to see more! :)

Oh, and if Heidi and Call Me Wesley remember, my birthday is in June and I was shopping for pastels. ;)

13. lol!
I favor the Rembrandt ones. ;)

No, seriously guys, I'd rather see everybody else's work out here, especially yours and Heidi's - that means more to me, and gives me a bigger push to get back into sketching and producing work again than anything else has in years.

Rembrandt's available here. ;)
And I thank you for the huge compliment, however it has to be only Heidi. I don't do anything ...

And Heidi's work never fails to blow me away.

I know, I know - some days I'm just more talkative than others. :silly:

5. Makes me wish I could draw anything.
You like the paper in it? I noticed that I have to be really careful about what pens I use ... :(

8. Yeah, the paper is great. Nice and heavy.
The only pen that will even touch mine is the one I wrote my address in it with, haha.

(The other arm is supposed to be hidden by the body.)

I had no idea you cold draw so well, p1!

And guess what? I got _myself_ a little moleskine journal just like yours and Call Me Wesley's. :bounce: I haven't used it yet, though. It's so pretty without my chickenscratch in it.

29. Haha, took me a while to gather the courage to draw in it.
When I drew the first line I thought "oh shit, what have I done?!" :P

And thank you. :) I don't draw nearly enough as I should though. My old sketchbook sat dormant forw months with just two drawings in it, then my brother wasted cranberry juice on it. Ruined most of the pages, and rendered it almost useless, haha.

I'm sure I'll gather the courage to draw more stuff in it eventually.

34. Do you ever paint on canvas?
It's not so much a problem now as it used to be when my work didn't pay for the materials, but I still occasionally just feel completely intimidated by a wide, white, gessoed field of canvas or paper. I think you may have a better, more artist-like vibe going on than when I did was so worried about "wasting" art supplies. Geez, it was like "screen freeze" or something.

Right now, I have a 160 x 100 cm Talens canvas sitting in a storage room, pristine and still encased in plastic, because I don't have any place to work on it until my new studio is finished. It's a really good feeling to have already made sketches and color studies for use of that canvas, instead of having it just _stare_ at me and intimidate me. (This huge, gallery-wrap canvas was a birthday gift from Call Me Wesley's sister and her partner. What a huge, humbling gift.)

Get crackin' in that journal, JK. I have, in reserve, a beautiful Monet watercolor journal for you. But I'm not gonna send it until you're nearing the end of your Moleskine journal. So _there_. (Do you have watercolors?)

Again, just need the courage. (And some ideas, haha.)

I've never tried watercolours, no.
