1. For jeans that look like they came from a fucking thrift store, no less.
People are stupid.

3. Ha ha!
I know several of those fashion victim types, but one in particular just bought a holed-up pair of versaces. That cash would have bought my groceries for a couple of months. I donut get it.

I've always hated "designer" shit, but when the whole "vintage" look became the huge designer trend, I was torn between increasing my hatred, and laughing my ass off...then I realized I could do both.

2. that is ridiculous
I can't hardly, even justify paying $20 for jeans, but I do because otherwise I would be pantless. Anything over $20 is food, drink, or smoke that I can't buy

18. Those jeans would cost $2.99 at a thrift store.
If they weren't in the "free" bin.

I can't believe what people will pay for. I have anxiety attacks spending that much on suits. (Therefore, I shop outlets and ebay).

27. In my Hippie days, we patched them to cover the rips.
The Punks let the rips show, with a few safety pins for decoration. ("Deconstruction"--so intellectual.)

So some rich idiots will pay hundreds for "retro" looks!

12. Fuck 'em, and I've seen $600 jeans...
that I say fuck them, too.

They may be made in the US, but that ain't worth a couple of hundred bucks to me. And I bet they ain't made in a union shop.

These things are sold in Barney's and Nordstrom's fer chrissake! Trust fund assholes and wannabe hiphoppers can buy all the jeans they want at Henri Bendel, too, but real people get jeans at Jembro for 10 bucks.

I'd pay 20 if Jembro's weren't made in China, but what the hell... 10 bucks is 10 bucks.

28. Do these jeans make my wallet look fat?
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 08:26 AM by Dangerously Amused

People, people. Don't rip on the jeans - they are doing us a public service. From a single glance at the jeans/label, we can know instantly who is filthy (rich), shallow and foolish. Then we can waste no time or beer on them in social situations.

31. Geez...I was once harassed for spending $88 on jeans.
That's a lot more reasonable. Anyway, I have a really hard time finding jeans that fit right. Abercrombie & Fitch and Lucky Brand fit me the best, so I spend the money. I also keep them forever.

Hell, right now I'm wearing Doc Martens that are ten years old and have a hole in the side of them. I try to remember not to wear them on wet days. I kept my birkenstocks until they were literally falling to pieces and all the scotch tape, staples and glue stick couldn't help them. Although, my coworker was incredibly amused by me sitting behind her vitamin counter with my "tools."

36. Has anyone ever tried on a pair of these jeans?
While out shopping with my daughter who is 14 we did give them a try. Neither one of us can find a good pair of jean that fit. Me because I'm shorter only about 5'4. The regular jeans are always way too long and the short jeans too short. Not to mention the fact that I hate the whole low rise thing since 20 extra lbs and a cesarean knock me out of ever looking good in them.
She has just the opposite issue. Although she is only 5'7 she has extremely long limbs, both arms and legs. And about 110 lb soaking wet. Every pair she tries on are too short or don't fit thru hips and ass correctly. These jeans actually fit her perfectly! OK don't go all ballistic on me yet. NO NO NO, I did not buy her $200.00 jeans but I'm just saying that with her body type they were a perfect fit. Lucky we were able to get a pair at American Eagle (size 4 long) which are passable. But still these were $50.00.
