OMG I forgot Sept 11th!

I was helping my roommate write a paper for her government class and she needed examples of troubled times in America post WWII, and I told her civil rights, Vietnam War and the war in Iraq. We both completely forgot to mention Sept 11th. The President has been telling us for years to never forget 9/11 and what do I go and do? Forget 9/11...what will I forget next, Poland?
