Sorry lounge, I need to know, do I look "jowl-y?"
I try my best not to be vain, but damn; it's a cool action shot and everything, but how f**kin' much skiing and paddling do I have to do to lose the g**damned double chin?

Sorry for the neurotic moment.

3. Nope.
It's the way the camera caught your face. Looks like your head is kind of pulled back, and that, in combination with the hood you have on, creates that illusion.

Totally cool picture, by the way. Looks like an absolute blast.

4. It was a great time, to be sure,
I hate myself for asking my personal version of "does this dress make me look fat?" But the pic brings out a weird combination of "hey, awesome shot" and "whoa, do I ever have a set of jowls!"

It's been a great spring for paddling here in Minnesota, we've had a lot of rain and some of the rivers are just toooooo big right this moment. It doesn't stop me from going out, but I defintely have to watch my step a lot more.

And I luurrrvvvveeee my new drysuit! :hi:

5. If you think the answer is "yes" you can say it without
hurting my feelings Lounge! :)

I've already given up pop,(well almost always, anyway) :( and a few other things, in addtion to my exercise related endeavours.

It's just a measure of how far I need to go. :)

6. Yes. And your thighs are fat. Also, your eyeliner is too dark.
Other than that, I'd say you are going to be facing a tummy tuck and an underarm tuck in the near future. You are just such a mess.

8. If he keeps this up . . .
His boat will turn over, his scalp will be scraped off, and he'll ask, "Do I look bald?"

Heh heh. Just kidding, EP. Stay safe out there. ;)

10. Funny you should mention that....
Two days after this picture was taken, in this same spot (although the water was higher) I did flip and before I could roll up I got my head drilled into the bottom about six or seven times. That REALLY gets your attention. Also, it makes you love your helmet! It knocked all the green off the top of it--fortunately I had just bought a new and better helmet--I had it set-up and outfitted for the next trip out (yesterday). No head/rock interactions then, though! B-)

Thanks for the good wishes!

15. Thanks!

Check out this one--I'm not cringing from the spray here. I'm pretty much locked in to a side-surf here. Notice the paddle sculling in a nice low-brace postition for stability! :hi:

16. I've kayaked on waves and paddled on the ocean and
tame rivers....that looks like a gas!.And I see that paddle tucked back there too...trying to veer straight or stay upright?

18. Just slowly sculling it back and forth, I stayed in
this side surf for a good 30 seconds (this hole is EXTREMELY retentive at this level--in fact, I got stuck and had to work a bit to get out) holding the paddle in the pile just smooths the ride out marvelously, otherwise you're just hopping and and down.

I just like hat pic because my technique is good in it (believe me, I ain't always so pretty!) :D

I've been jonesing to try some actual "sea" kayaking, but in the midwest that can be a bit of a drive. Maybe on Lake Superior this summer....

9. One day you'll be glad you have that double chin...
When you want to hold something under there. Like a violin, for instance...

That was a very innovative and creative post, I must say. ;)

my chest with my chin, it makes my neck ache a bit--and I have enough trouble playing guitar--I'd be too half-assed at fiddle. (For me it'd be fiddle--the folkie thing y'know!) :hi:

17. A toast, to you, GOG.
And here's hoping that, for the rest of your life, nobody ever, ever holds a knitting needle under your neck, other than you. :scared:
