How are you today? I'm doing just fine, myself! :bounce: It's Friday, I'm off work and it's payday (plus our year end bonus)! :bounce::woohoo: I hope you're in as good a mood as I am! :)

I have a vacation coming up, my crew! :bounce: Today is my last day off until my vacation starts...next Friday. I haven't decided exactly WHAT I'm going to do or where I'm going to go (if anywhere), but if I decide to go visit my parents in Missouri (I only get to see them once a year), I'll be away from DU for about 10 days. What I'm going to do without you for 10 days I have NO idea! But, there are several things to decide beforehand that will determine if I go or not. I'll keep you informed.

But I think the week will pass by fast. I just have to keep myself busy at work. And it means this weekend I have to wash some clothes I want to take with me. I will go to my mom Friday evening and Saturday we take the plane to Prague. There my aunt will meet with us. She lived in Prague in the 70s and speaks fluent Czech. Isn't that cool?

......that. My son is the one that introduced me to wireless and yes the batteries were a constant issue. Now that I'm thinking about it, it wasn't just a couple of batteries a month or anything normal like that. It was 6 or 8 pack a month I think, and the cheap ones wouldn't work either. Oops, maybe I will rethink this wireless thingy. Huuuuuuuuuuum thank you for the heads up!!!!:hug:

See, the problem is, the mouse and keyboard are sending a constant signal out to the receiver even when the computer is turned off, so the batteries just run down in no time. That's why I went back to a wired mouse...I was spending a fortune in freakin batteries!

107. I'm working my way around computer challenges.

It isn't a computer friendly hotel. They don't charge for the amount of time on a dial-up connection as some places do. I found that out the hard way on my first DU meet-up in Boston last year. x( However all MSN dial-up numbers are long distance from here. My Cingular connection and my cell phone will not work in most parts of my hotel room. I was hoping to have the ocean as my backdrop while posting from my room. The only way that works is if I take my computer outside. It's a little damp for that as I found out when my finger slid across one of the ports on the back and I felt a slight tingle. :scared: My posting earlier this morning was done while I was sitting outside my hotel room but my battery gave out. I was sitting in my truck posting for a short time following supper. I hope everyone appreciates the lengths I go to keeping in-touch with my friends. ;)

I heard a lot of people complain that it was "just a regular love story" but that is what I liked about it. They didn't have to do anything highly unusual to draw attention to it, and they showed that love between two men is just as meaningful as love between and man and a woman. I pity anyone who was "afraid" to see it. I was pissed that they only got one Oscar. I know there were a lot of good movies last year, but I think Brokeback Mountain deserved more than it got.

Been reading about your "potential" vacation. I don't think I'd like the long drive, especially by myself. Maybe you could take a different route and do some excursioning? Just a thought. But . . . having time off and staying home can be fun. Gives us an opportunity to get all the stuff done that we keep putting off.

I'm going to an art lecture later on this afternoon. Should be good. Whenever this gallery changes exhibits, they get the artist to give a talk. Puts the artwork in a much better perspective that way.

I hope you have a terrific vacation. I've spent two nights at the farmhouse and I love it. My youngest cat, doesn't. She cries most of the night. :(

Tonight my daughter and I finish cleaning the old place and leave the keys on the counter. Tomorrow I work at a friend's antique/gift shop for the day. I'll be dragging by Saturday night.

I love the song of the day. In fact, the whole cd is terrific. Joshua Kadison really understands real people and real emotion and portrays it beautifully.

My hairbrush, my medications, a brace for the wrist I sprained a month ago and the most important - soap. Lucky for all around, I found some body wash. :)

The house is total chaos right now. Boxes everywhere! My daughter loves to organize and put things away (proof she cannot possibly be related to ME) so I hope we get alot done this weekend.
