Speaking of Star Trek...are we ready for another movie or series?
Or should the break last longer. I have to admit I was a bit burned out on Trek...but lately I find myself pulling out old episodes of DS9 and TNG and watching them....

1. Not a big DS9 fan
After the hundredth episode of gauzily-lit, touchy-feely Bajoran spiritualism, I started to lose interest. Too many Klingon-heavy episodes too, while we're at it.

I may be in the minority, but I thought that ST:ENT had some really strong moments, Braga notwithstanding. I wish that it could have gone at least one more season, if only so that we could have been spared that inexcusably bad series finale.

And I'd like to see another movie, depending on a lot of things...

2. Funny DS:9 was my favorite...
Had that serial quality, one week flowing to the next.

But really there is no "bad" star trek...just some better than others!!!

3. Good lord, NO.
In another 10 years, maybe. But they have to get some new blood in there first, and get a new concept, too.

5. maybe in another year or two?
I would like to see a good concept, though.

The Trek universe has already seen it's share of epic events with the Borg, all the wars with the Klingons & Romulans, the Jem Haddar and all the stuff about DS9.

How do you set something there & work around those huge events? Or, do you set it still further in the future?

I think if you set it in the past, like Enterprise, you risk possibly going against "canon" historical events & the like and upsetting the real fanatics.

6. I've heard suggestions that they make one surrounding Star Fleet Academy..
Also one focusing on the Klingons...

11. Either one would tank within the first thirteen episodes IMO
Or else degenerate into Starfleet: Orange County in similarly short order.

10. Setting it another century or two further in the future
is something I think could be pretty cool actually.

I don't think Paramount has the guts to try though.

8. No. Give it another 17 years.
TOS is dated in terms of f/x, but often fun.

TNG has its moments and looks more slick, but in other ways it has dated worse than the original/

DS9 = B5; B5 DVD sets cost much less and B5 is what DS9 based itself on so why waste time with DS9

Voy = antithesis OF trek

Ent = last squeezin's of the cash cow. Moooooooooooo.

Let it stay in its coma.

9. I'd like a series rather than a movie.
Heard that Shatner is supposed to make a proposal to Paramount about making a new series about Kirk's cadet years or something. (not played by Shatner, duh!)

That could be pretty cool actually.

In very tight uniforms...

14. No more tight uniforms!
That always meant they couldn't think of a decent story line!

13. I want to know
What happened to Kasidy and Benjamin Sisko's baby? Did Benjamin ever come back? Talk about cliff-hangers. The kid's be about 18 or 20 by now( or was it a girl?)
