You can age Great Blue Herons by the amount of white on the crown. This bird has little to no white, so it's very young. And judging by its facial expression, it's VERY VERY young.

They're generally ill-tempered, solitary birds. They're closely related to storks, ibises, and New World vultures (including condors).

I haven't asked around about the flavor, but I bet they're fishy and gross to eat. :shrug:

4. Ugh, I hate the taste of fish.
And I didn't know that about telling the age of the bird by the amount of white.

I've also seen Green Herons while I was at camp, once.
