Where can I find an effective work out routine?
If my asking about computers wasn't enough, I was wondering what normal people should be doing while at the gym. Currently, I am doing 50-55 cardio because I am not really sure how to work out, and I certainly want to know more about it before I invest in a personal trainer (aside: the new computer is gonna nix that idea for a few months).

So where can I find something effective, and still spend about the same amount of time?

1. Frankly, I would just forget the gym and walk 1 hour in your neighborhood.

3. I live in a city...
so the smog factor might be a problem. I did used to walk everywhere when I was younger, maybe I'll try it a bit more, but I really want to know how to sculpt my muscles.

2. A few suggestions--

As an ex-gym freak, I can probably give a bit of advice. I am assuming you are female (if not, sorry, I didn't think to check your profile before posting, silly me)and I would definitely suggest checking out http://www.oxygenmag.net --it's the message board for the Oxygen Women's Fitness Magazine website--tons of trainers and fitness competitors post there, and you'll be able to find great diet and exercise info from people who really know what they are talking about.

I would definitely suggest making yourself familiar with as much information as possible before meeting with a prospective trainer--that way you will know if they are worth the money.

Other than that, without knowing where you are at and what your goals are, it is impossible to offer any specific advice about your routine. :)

5. No problem--
I spent half of my college years in the gym, lol, and after I had my daughter two years ago I had a ton of weight to lose so I was on the Oxy Mag board every single day getting ideas and motivation.

They rock.

How much time to you have?
What equipment is available?
