Minnesota Twins Fans - Trades Good or Bad ?
In my opinion it might be ok...as long as they sign Stewart, Guardado, and hopefully Jones.

Losing Pierzynski is bad...but hey were gonna bring up Joe Mauer anyway who I think is gonna be a huge star.

Losing Milton seems bad at first, but he is so injury prone the Twins weren't getting alot of production out of him anyway.

Losing Hawkins does suck...but in the Pierzynski and Milton trades they picked up two quality set up men - Nathan and Silva. Add J.C. Romero and the Twins are still set in that department.

Now thay have enough money to hopefully sign Shannon Stewart and Guardado, and possibly Jones. If they can't sign Jones, they can trade him for another good starter.

Thoughts ?

2. Ha ha
Yes, kick it later, I know of several diehard Twins fans on here.

I'm a casual fan - I prefer football, and baseball really chaps my hide right now with the disparity.

3. How about a Phillies fans thoughts...
I know little about Milton, though the numbers don't jump out at me.

With Silva, you're getting a guy who throws hard and can be tough to hit, but will frustrate you with his inconsistency. He doesn't really walk a lot of guys, but if he could locate, he could dominate. He just has this tendency to throw a wild pitch at exactly the wrong time.

Punto's going to be a nice utility guy off the bench. If he gets any regular playing time, he's solid defensively and can run good.

5. Milton can be awesom when he's healthy
He has great stuff. Threw a no-hitter a couple years ago. Just seems like when he gets going, he gets injured.

As for Silva, that was actually the same rap they have on LaTroy Hawkins. He failed as a starter and a closer, but was perfect as a setup man. He can control his pitches for an inning or so, but then tends to start overthrowing.

Good luck with Milton. I see you are losin Millwood though eh ?

7. Yeah, that's what I figured about him
Hopefully he can stay healthy, win 10 to 15 games. If he does that, he probably won't get any batteries thrown at him.

Silva's got closer stuff. He skipped triple-A a couple of years ago. Silva really doesn't overthrow, he just doesn't have the control yet. I'll be if you're able to keep him confident for the next 2 years, he could save 40 games by then.

Milwood wanted a 5 year deal at 15 million a year. He went 14-12 last year. Phillies didn't even consider the money or the length. Smart move. Milwood's good, but you can get a lot better for 15 million a year.

4. Y'all should trade Jones.
Never should've given up Kielty for Stewart. Twinkies need some outfielders who can hit.

Mauer's gonna be BIG, though...

6. Might need to trade him for a Starter
Stewart has the bat, just not the best defensively. Still I think it was a good trade.

If Jones does get traded Twins could really use a good 4th starter. They have a solid top three now with Santana, Radke, and Lohse. After that it is a bit shaky.

They could probably live without Jones as the farm system is stocked with studs.
