Will still lose to the Cubs: Francona Named as New Red Sox Manager
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=577&e=1&u=/nm/20031204/sp_nm/al_francona_dc

BOSTON (Reuters) - The Boston Red Sox hired Terry Francona as their new manager Thursday as they bid to bring a World Series title to Boston for the first time since 1918.

Francona, 44, managed the Philadelphia Phillies for four seasons from 1997 to 2000, compiling a 285-363 record while rebuilding the Phillies team.

Expectations will, however, be higher for at a Boston team that came within a game of winning the American League pennant this season under Grady Little.

2. There are only two teams to whom losing is acceptable
for the Red Sox. One of them is the Cubs.

Of course, I would prefer the Sox win, it's just not as bad if it's to the Cubs or Dodgers.
