Question for other women re: underwear
Boy shorts. I like the looks of them. So... are they comfy? (they look it)? Any special affinity for a particular brand?

And yes, this is a for real question.

1. love them.
I like hanes. cheap and comfy. But I have also gotten a few good pairs from Target, their brand name. Calvin Klein is nice, but more expensive.

2. I just started wearing them.
GirlinContempt and Lara both steered me towards them. They are quite comfortable.

I purchased them at a local store-no real brandname. Mine have the cutest bows on them!

16. That just gave me a big belly laugh.
I'm the short girl who looks feminine but acted like one of the guys. The other women would be at the party because they came w/ their boyfriends. They'd hide in the kitchen all night long, talking about their periods and their emotions and shit.

I was the girl who was there because the guys invited me. I'd have on the short skirt, hair and makeup always done perfectly, drinking a beer and hustling the guys in pool or smoking a cigar while kicking their asses at poker.

I'm used to it. It's either lesbians or very tall men.

I'd break your heart on TAR. If we made it to Russia I'd have to dump you for some brooding Russian wannabe poet who drinks way too much vodka and smokes like a chimney.

I still say we are ratings gold.

I'm the magnet, you're the lesbian.

I assume, from your avatar, that you are Wiccan or Pagan. I'm a Methodist (very liberal even for a relatively liberal religion). You have an SO, I'm the white trash single mother. You're from the East, I'm in the Bible Belt.

Gold. It's all gold.

Only one problem-we can't tell anyone here that we are on the show or we have to stop posting until the season is over!

32. They should be coming up.
You are a librarian and I'm a baker. We have a professional and a blue collar worker.

This is getting even better. I still think this is ratings gold.

I say we wait one season. I should start lifting weights first. You know that the all female teams have a disadvantage going in because they always get stuck w/ an activity that involves lots of upper body strength(climbing up ropes and other crap like that). The Bowling Moms are the only all female team that have ever made F4. They lost because of rope climbing.

If we want to be competitive, we need to build up our upper body strength so that we can climb ropes like the men do. Sweetie, I'm not competing to lose in the first leg! I'm playing to win.

And maybe some light reading on basic auto mechanics would be good. Look at how many vehicles have been breaking down in the last few seasons!

Now, can you climb a rope? I'm seriously out of shape in that department but I can chow down a huge bowl of cavier, if ever needed.

We need to assess our strengths.

39. My sister and I do this with each roadblock/detour
I have a decent amount of upper body strength. I am scared of heights, but will do it for that much money. However, I am a poor swimmer -- so you can do that. I'm bad at putting stuff together like IKEA desks, but am a good helper and tightener. I can read a map. I can drive a stick shift.

42. I'm an excellent map reader.
I used to be a 9-1-1 dispatcher-it's in the job description. Along those lines I'm very good at looking for details and relaying the information back.
I'm an average swimmer-good enough to make it across. I have no fear of heights. I work in a job that requires me to be on my feet for 8-10 hours daily so I could easily climb that stupid fire escape and not want to pass out midway through.
I have good hand-eye coordination. I suck at putting things together. I haven't driven a stick in years. I can handle spicy or sour foods but could not handle it when they had to eat the meat a season or two ago. I like meat but not in that quantity-I'd vomit.

And I have no pride when it comes to begging for money. We'd be rich w/o even receiving a penny from Phil.

45. And I can get some more lap time in at the local
pool.

For some reason I'm mostly worried about any kind of ropes. Most women do not have the upper body for them and the producers know this. Most women have more strength in their lower body.

If I thought we'd get any bonus I'd sit on Phil's lap.

I don't look my age and can usually get younger men to help me do whatever is needed. That might be a plus for us.

19. the least VPL ones are the ones that are just stretch lace- no hems
or waistband, usually a sorta scalloped edge. they usually kinda cut straight across your but cheek, not under it- so i guess there could be a little line there. but i've never had any that had elastic in the leg, and i think that makes the PL less V. certainly makes them more comfy.

9. Victoria's Secret has some nice ones...
very sheer, so visible panty lines aren't really an issue. But look at the way they've been constructed - if it looks like a machine has sewn two halves together in the middle of the short, beware that seams that cut a person in half can lead to uncomfortable instances of camel toe. Just a warning. Aside from being, well, uncomfortable, it can also be embarassing.

12. I love 'em. Very comfortable and they STAY PUT!
I have no hips but a fairly generous butt and these are the only types I've found that cover my rear AND stay put.

FWIW, my hubby finds even my standard Target brand editions appealing and they have no frills whatsoever.

33. Fetishists
There's a great market for vintage panties on eBay. Tap panties, puffies, you name it.

Boy shorts in the US are an example of a good idea gone bad. The point is a relaxed fit to avoid panty lines, but we just had to sex them up for the Victoria's Secret crowd.

Whether I love or hate them decides on the cut. The ones that are cut high ride right up and get uncomfortable in a hurry.

I prefer the classic bikini or a midrise brief. Ocassionally, a thong is required but I try to avoid thongs (aka butt floss.)

I bought a couple of pairs of them and fell in love with them. I have been wearing them ever since. They look just like men's briefs, except the little slit has no opening. I guess they figure we don't need it. <insert your own rule breaking sex reference here> :P

38. The Hanes brand goes well with my riding breeches (no panty line)
Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 06:48 PM by CottonBear
but are too high in the waist to wear with mid-rise jeans. The Hanes boy shorts/briefs are way cheaper than the expensive ($25 and up) boy shorts sold in the English riding catalogs.

Get some that are not cut so high in the waist to wear with jeans.

edit: Do not buy the kind with a seam down the middle of the crotch. I bought some like this once: uncomfortable and unattractive. Plus the brand was cut all wrong and they hiked up in the back. Very uncomfortable. :(
