AWWW St. Patrick's Day, the Holiest of Holy Days.
Edited on Thu Mar-16-06 05:37 PM by texas1928
When Saint Patrick rises out of the Shamrock Patch and gives out beer to all the good, drunk, Irish little boys and girls.

So be on your best behavior and meet me in the Shamrock patch and we will welcome Saint Patrick.

6. Hey, not to be a party pooper, but,
Saint Patrick was, according to Thomas Cahill in "How the Irish Saved Civilization", the first person to take a stand against slavery. I'm not wild about seeing my ethnic group labeled as drunks, but show a little respect for a man who should be one of our heroes.

12. True, the man needs to be respected...
and for that, I don't think he minds a toast or two(or three ;)) in his honor, especially from all his brethren around the world. :)

13. If I weren't thoroughly anti-religious, I might be offended...
…at the way people celebrate St. Patrick's day in this country. Suffice it to say it's remarkably different from how the same holiday is observed in the country of origin.

However, seeing as I am anti-religious, drink up kiddies! Have one fer th' leprechaun!
