In honor of the Rock Hall's 5 newest inductees,
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 06:38 PM by Beware the Beast Man
what are your favorite songs by any one of them?

They are- Blondie, Black Sabbath, Miles Davis, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Sex Pistols. Of course, Sabbath is my favorite of the five, so I'll have to go with "Snowblind," "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath," or "Symptom of the Universe."

And Skynyrd's "Gimme Three Steps" is the greatest song ever written about cowardice.

2. I probably won't watch - Sex Pistols didn't show

3. You might as well induct the fucking Monkees*
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 06:31 PM by Beware the Beast Man
*= music elitist rant.

They were about as much of a real band as the Monkees.

5. Musically they surely didn't have the skills but
they were the start of the Punk movement which brought great changes in the world of music. I mean, if I'm correct they only ever recorded one record (Never mind the Bollocks). One would suspect that Nirvana would be inducted for the same exact reason since they started the Grunge movement and again there was a great shift in the music being put out there

Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 07:32 PM by tigereye
per se. But that's another discussion. :) An endless one to be sure.

I think it's cool that they were inducted despite their distaste for it.
I still remember how amazing it was to hear Sid's version of My Way for the first time way back when.

Cranky as hell, that's our Johnny.

15. ah it's always fun to embarrass oneself
from a position of alleged knowledge (me, I mean) ;)

I can't tell you how exciting it was to hear that version on the radio for the first time. Nothing else sounded like that. My girlfriend and I jumped around like maniacs, saying, what is this!!!!????

ah, those were fun times.

18. Great times
I remember buying Nevermind the Bullocks back then with my fucked up hair and my leather on and the girl at the suburban record store giving me this dirty look...LOL. We were little punks back then, as much as we could be for Suburbanville, Ohio.

7. I have to disagree
They wrote some great tunes and Jones, Matlock and Cook were pretty good. I know they say Steve Jones didn't play on all that stuff, but I say he did.
