Tribute to Kirby
Sorry it's so late, but I finally finished 2 important things for my class (a discussion outline and a 12-minute presentation), so here's my wee tribute to Kirby.

Me and Kirby 1989. Thanks for the memories.

1. That's a sweet picture.
His death really was a tragedy. :(

3. I'm still
a little weepy eyed over it. Kirby was my first celeb-worship. I still have my Kirby posters from the 1987 world series and a couple with just him (the Wrecking Ball is my favourite).

It's like a piece of my childhood is gone. I still remember going to Barlow foods and getting 2 packs of bubble gum cards for 50 cents and rushing home to find if any of them were Kirby. Sometimes I even got two Kirbys in one pack and that was quite exciting.

8. I cried
when I found it in my album. I have several pictures of Kirby, from the KROC dinner (that was where I was at in that picture) and when the fans got to go on the field before a game. I also met Jeff Gordon, Kent Hrbek, Tim Laudner, Tom Kelly, and Allan Anderson at that dinner but I only remember meeting Kirby. My baseball was signed (that's why I'm holding onto it for dear life) by Kirby. I still have the ball, it also has Al Newman, Mark Guthrie, and others who I met in later years.

But Kirby will always be up there. I've met other celebs and they never garnered the same excitement I had meeting Kirby.

12. He was a nice fellow
Did a lot for kids. I still don't believe he would drag a lady in the bathroom and beat her up.
