11. Scott Speed is on the Italian Red Bull, the 2nd team (or junior)
The owner of Red Bull bought last year's Minardi team and renamed them "Scuderia Toro Rosso". Ex driver Gerhard Berger bought half of the team from him a couple of months ago and is running the team.

6. is anything different planned for the USGP?
and what is the purpose of going from V-10s to V-8s? If i wanted to see V-8s, I'd watch IRL/CART

7. V10s were too fast
The FIA thought that V10 cars were becoming too fast in a straight line so they decided to reduce the engine power significantly.

The FIA did give the teams the option of using rev-limited V10s this season, but they didn't take that option and went for V8s instead (except for one of the Red Bull teams).

13. i do have one more (simple) question
which maybe someone can explain...what was the deal with the new rules regarding the number of tires you could use during a race, and pit stops for fuel?

15. here you go
After a season’s absence, tyre changes during races return to Formula One in 2006. The thinking behind this is that the reduced engine size will offset any performance gain. Drivers also have access to slightly more tires than in 2005 - seven sets of dry-weather, four sets of wet-weather and three sets of extreme-weather. Drivers must make a final choice of dry-weather compound ahead of qualifying.
