I think it's called 'Find Me Guilty' or something... and what's the deal with the hairpiece? I've seen bad toupees and comb-overs that look better.

2. Knw what my first clue that it's going to be awful is?
It stars Vin Diesel.

4. Hey, Iron Giant was good! So was Saving Private Ryan.
A lot of movies with Vin Diesel in it are bad, but Vin Diesel's presence doesn't automatically make a movie bad. ;)

6. Iron Giant = Voice acting only...
And I wasn't a fan of Saving Private Ryan, but I will point out that he wasn't the star,.

33. Uhm, voice acting is HARDER than doing it with a camera. -NT

35. But since they're different types of acting...
You get different types of performances. If voice acting is harder, then he has to push himself to perfomr better. His usual performances are awful, as is the usual material he chooses to work with. Honestly, I'm willing to bet that give the right director and material, he could give a wonderful performance, because the right director and the right material will force him to give that good performance. But his track record so far has been extremely dismal. THAT is why I said I knew it was going to be awful.

36. No, it's not "different," it's definitely harder
At least people I respect who know something or two about acting insist on that, and I've heard pretty much the same thing from interviews with any actor who gets asked that question. In animated features, the bad actors stick out like sore thumbs (e.g. Claire Danes and Billy Crudup in Princess Mononoke).

Look, I'm not trying to claim that Vin Diesel is Lawrence Olivier or anything like that, but your argument that Iron Giant shouldn't count beause acting with voice only is somehow easier is patently, demonstrably false.

37. as a person whos done both voice acting and acting...
i'd say that one isn't harder than the other, they're just different...in acting you have to be aware of not just your voice, but of your actions, motions, movements, facial expressions...but in voice acting...while you definately have to worry about your line delivery as in acting...the only other thing you really have to worry about is, making your lines match the movement of the animated character

39. Hey, I liked both! (him and the movie)
Also loved Boiler Room and Pitch Black. I like Vin! Yes, he's been in some crap movies, but he's also been in some really good ones in which he did a fine job acting. I don't get all the Vin hateration! :-(

(I did, however, see a pic of him in the new movie mentioned by the OP, and the hair is kind of silly looking.) :o

34. Just because someone's been in a lot of bad movies,....
…it doesn't follow that every movie they're in is going to be bad, nor does it necessarily mean that they're a bad actor.

Take Christopher Lee for example. He's been in a very large number of cheesy grade B movies over the years, but that doesn't make Lord of the Rings bad just because he was in it.

7. Vin Diesel has sometimes been better than the movies he has been in.
For example that one where he took care of the household of bratty kids, I can't remember the name of it now. The movie was pretty juvenile, but I thought that Vin carried his role in it pretty well.

I will watch any movie that man is in, silly or not.

And I thought he was pretty damn good in Boiler Room.

But, I'm biased because I'm a Vin Diesel fan. Also, Ron Silver plays a judge and despite him being such a right-winger, I like him.

15. Is he still getting movie roles?
I can't imagine why he's still being cast it anything that doesn't involved having his shirt off for most of the film. He doesn't have much more to offer from what I can tell.

the kind of throw-away kids movie that I would never waste 1 1/2 hours to see. Besides, I already saw it the first time when it was called Kindergarten Cop.

I'm not making fun of the guy - I did enjoy 'the Fast and the Furious' - I'm just saying he looks silly in this movie. Which I hope is good btw. I doubt Lumet would have casted him if he couldn't act.

So I don't have much of a preconceived image of him I guess. :-)

Lumet has said that his acting will surprise people. Maybe this will be his breakout role.

It's about snakes, who are on a plane.

No kidding! Starring Samuel L. Jackson.

Whoever greenlighted it HAD to be smoking SOMETHING.
