Our 26" TV is FUCKED.
Squashed picture yesterday, one thin horizontal line today.

On the plus side, we found one for sale in the classifieds for $350. We pick it up this weekend.

Oh, yeah. It's a 60 incher.

:woohoo:

1. My 27-inch TV is having issues as well.
It works for about 10 minutes, then all channels become snow. It's like the cable signal gets interrupted.

Ah well, there are some good sales, maybe a good deal on a pre-owned. We'll see. I can't have a 60-inch TV though. That's way too big for my little house.

Enjoy your new toy!

4. Thanks for the info, TrogL!
The old TV cost us $75, secondhand. Guess we made the right decision.

7. I paid $8 for our
26" RCA console, about 1991 vintage, at a yard sale a block from our house. I spent more than that replacing the missing remote with a cheap universal one from OfficeMax. :D

5. damn...
350 for a 60 inch? Projection...I hope it works out for you, in my experience the projections are kinda over hyped...btw, my 32 inch is still going strong, but its only a year old...:)

6. You've lost the vertical sweep - it is most likely a cracked solder joint
Very easy repair, actually.

9. Well, I may consider keeping it after all.
I was considering giving it to some hobbyist. OTOH, not sure two TVs are necessary.

Thanks for the tip!

14. So sorry to hear that, Puglover.
I'm not looking forward to when we have to deal with our pug's last days. Seventeen years, wow. I hope we have him as long as you've had yours. Take care.

11. Nice bargain!
Personally, I've never spent more than $100 on a TV, so I tend to buy mine used from TV repair shops.

Computer monitors… now that I'm willing to splurge a bit on. I wub my 19" LCD!

15. A 60 incher for $350?
That should last you to at least Wednesday. :p

Seriously, be careful. Of course, if they're ditching it for some kind of plasma or something, you might get lucky.

17. They're downsizing.
In their late 50s/early 60s, moving into a small-home gated community. There's just no room for this monster.

And, yeah, they DID get a plasma, so I think we got lucky.

Thanks for being concerned. :)
