Our Meetup tonight is at the county Dem HQ.

I feel like baking.

Should I make something to take or just not be that ... midwestern?

2. I Suppose It Depends On The Crowd

It might be a good idea in the midwest and not so good an idea in NYC.

3. go right ahead
unless your baking is horrible (which I doubt is the case) or if every person at the meetup are Atkins people, I don't think this will be a bad thing.

Everyone likes free food. It's not like you could offend anyone and who knows, maybe you'll start a trend and other people will bring food to the January meetup.

There's no point saving the country on an empty stomach.

8. Yes, take it to the meeting. Just don't confuse Howard Dean with ...
Howard Baker.

5. If you baked something and brought it to my meeting
you'd get a hug.
Do it.

6. Baked goods are always welcomed, IMHO
You may get a few people who say "oh, you shouldn't have!", but those people will be the first ones to grab for the baked goodies. And having volunteered for campaigns before, I can tell you that anyone who brings in food of any kind is instantly popular!

If you feel like baking, I don't see why not! Only thing is, you might set a precedent and they might expect it of you every time.

But I say, go for it.
