It's going to be a boy!
Just found out today! Sweeet. I gotta say, though, those sonagrama-whatsits are weird. Seeing him as a squirmy skeleton is a bit creepy. Either way, he should be popular with the ladies, if you know what I mean, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
I'm sooo excited I'm not sure what to think!
Except I can't come up with any good boy names. Sure, stinky awful names are easy to come up with, but my last name is very french, and I'd kind of like the first name to go along with it, but not be to french (don't want the boy to get picked on too much).

Any good first name recommendations I can add to my very short list?

6. I've only got two so far.
The first is Maurice, my fathers name. He died before I was born so I'd like to use the name, but at the same time it makes me kind of uncomforatable.
Also Pierre, but I don't think the mrs will go for that!

19. Aramis is good.
That'll go on the list. It goes quite well with the last name. Nice cadence to the consonants.

Thanks

3. Shouldn't that be "HE'S going to be a boy"?
You only say "it" when you're uncertain of the gender. ;)

5. Argg, that will take a while to get used to.
I've been using it up till now, finding he/she a bit clumsy!

9. Actually
Since the appendage is visible, shouldn't that be "He IS a boy"?

I really don't think that's going to change in the next few months.

16. I was emphasizing the pronoun...
…to draw attention to the pronoun he used and the pronoun he should've used. ;)

My first was a boy -- and a joy. Little boys are adorable.

How about Julian? I've always loved that name.

Let us know when you decide ... but, definitely take your time. You have to mull names over and see if they seem natural to say, etc.

edited for sloppy typing

After the creepy, inappropriate remark that I presume was about your son's presumptive penis size, no I don't have any name suggestions. By the way--that's not going to make him popular with all of the ladies (ore gentlemen--you never know, do you?) in this world. Who says we don't live in a phallacracy? Good luck!

15. Oh, its just a bit of lite humor.
Seriously, after worrying endlessly about what could go wrong, and knowing a bit about my family's history, its just good to see that everythings there!
Thanks!

20. Naming after a grandfather is always a good idea
lets you off the hook if he "hates his name", and make grandfather happy..

Make sure the initials don't spell somthing odd..

Stay away from trendy names.. It sucks to be one of 9 Joshuas in kindergarten

Picture the name you give him...on an executive nameplate on a desk/door.. the name you give him as a newborn will have to "work" for a 55 yr old man too..:)

Watch out for nickname-able names...My son Steven wanted to be called Steven, but some special friends were allowed to call him Steve..Our middle son Michael was always Michael..never Mike...Oldest Scott, HATED HATED HATED being called Scotty, and never allowed it..

Congrats :)

That's the umbilical cord you silly!

Seriously, many congratulations! I remember seeing my child for the second time as a fetus (the first time he was a comma on the screen; that was the confirming sonogram when i first thought I was pregnant) - it was weird yet neato.

26. Congratulations!!
Boys are wonderful :-) Of course I am biased as a mommy to three of them. My first was named after my paternal grandfather who died before I was born. His middle name is my husband's paternal grandfather's name. Then we had to find names for the twins that would be able to stand up to the older one's name (pretty strong name). It took us a while to decide on names. My younger twin was the last to be named and was just baby b until I was about 7 months along.
We poured though a bunch of those baby name books and hubby and I would argue back and forth. My husband hates his name and refused to name on of the boys after him, but we did end up using it as the older twin's middle name.
It can get so crazy picking out a name! Good luck!
