And the only thing more tedious than threads bitching about Oscar threads is bitching about threads that bitch about Oscar threads. :P But dead Popes, dead Reagans, and now the Oscars--people care a great deal about some of this stuff, and I don't see why people are so eager to hurl rocks at them for caring. Just remember we all have our own obsessions that seem meaningless and forum-clogging to others--Will Pitt has started dozens of sports threads that I could give less than a shit about, matcom has started a few heated discussions about the reaction to pics of scantily clad ladies here, and another who criticized the Oscar threads was involved in a flamewar about cornflake batter for fried chicken. So I think it's fairly hypocritical to waltz in, carefully forgetting one's own obsessive reaction to frivolous bullshit, and declare that argument about the Oscars is somehow childish or indicative of an less than serious mind. And of course, I spent a lot of early Sunday morning arguing about titty-twisters. So take this with a pound of salt.

actually I don't know why everyone is bitching since there were so many lefty themed movies! Read: Capote, Syriana, Munich, Crash, BBM, Constant Garderner, even Walk the Line was quite good.
