Poll question: Guess which fast food joint is the worst for dieters.
Edited on Mon Mar-06-06 09:12 AM by Beware the Beast Man
Cathyclysmic and I are both on Weight Watchers. For those of you who don't know, WW uses "points" based on a calculation of fat, fiber and calories in a particular food. Guess which is the worst, in terms of points? The answer may surpirse you...

1. You're very generous in calling these places *restaurants*.

I totally avoid most of them for the sake of my cardio-vascular system.

3. Right. Let me change that. Should be "fast food."
:)

2. I'd say Burger King
Hell, at least McDonald's is trying to improve, admittedly very slowly, the nutritional and fat content of some of its fare. Burger King keeps coming out with fat laden, calorie laden sandwiches. BK doesn't even seem to be trying.

4. Nope. But they are worse than Mickey D's.

6. The triple whopper put them over the top
and the new "angus thing with triple cheese" is darn awful.

5. I'd have to say Domino's

I don't know about calories but that crap they put on their pizza is slow acting poison.

7. Surprisingly, no.
Pizza is not as bad as some, but it is still pretty fattening.

8. I'd say Pizza Hut.
But mostly because I can eat about 4-5 slices of pizza in a sitting. This is of course why I am going to WW as well! How is it working for you? I am a life time member from about 18 years ago and also had a lot of success with the program about 3 years ago but it seems to be going MUCH slower this time around.

9. We started 2 weeks ago.
I lost 3.3 pounds so far, and I weigh in again tomorrow.

BZZT! It's not Pizza Hut. Think more "wholesome." :)

10. When do we get the answer?
Don't say "After lunch"

13. We don't get an option to choose Hardee's? They go out of their way
to literally emphasize how unhealthy their food is. I guess because it's just a regional chain (also known as Carl's Jr. in the western U.S.). They did acheive notoriety for the Paris Hilton commercial, where she's humping the soapy exotic car while shoving the burger into her mouth...

14. I ran out of room for Hardee's.
I don't know about that new burger of theirs, but if I remember, they are still comparatively better than one of the places in this poll.

15. I would think it's Subway or Schlotzky's -- due to the "surprise."
Nobody would be surprised if McDonald's was bad.

16. Bingo! It's Schlotzky's.
They have one sandwich (the Turkey Club, if I remember) that is 65 points. You would have to eat nothing for two days to make up for it. Their other sandwiches range anywhere from 25-50 points. By comparison, a Big Mac is 15. I was shocked.

20. It makes sense, actually-- the sandwich bread has some unholy
combination of fats in/on it and bacon, mayo, cheese, and so forth isn't exactly health food.

nothing but shakes, fries, and burgers

18. It's Schlotzky's.
They must put pig lard in their bread or something to be worse than BK or McDonald's.

19. I've never seen one of those, so I had no idea what it was
Edited on Mon Mar-06-06 10:06 AM by DS1
I guess every single option out here is better, therefore I cannot eat an unhealthy lunch, relative to Schlotzky's :bounce:
