Good Monday Morning, Crew!
:donut::hi:
Time to rise and shine! :bounce: I hope you had a great weekend filled with lots of fun and laughter! But Monday arrives and the work week must begin. I know, I know. I wish it would last longer too.

I watched the Academy Awards last night and let me just say; Brokeback Mountain was ROBBED! The whole awards show was a letdown for me. x( Only Ang Lee and Gustavo Santaolaolla won awards. I was pissed!

So, are you ready to go today? I hope so because ready or not...here it comes! :bounce:

31. I hear ya
Last year I went and saw Narnia, Star Wars, Harry Potter, March of the Penguins, and Memoirs of a Geisha, and I wouldn't have seen the last if I hadn't read the book so I knew what I was in for.

I cried all the way through "Penguins," and I got choked up during Harry Potter and Geisha.

I saw "Eight Below" the other day and bawled freely during the beginning and the end.

I am SUCH a sap. :(

When I see movies at home, I don't get that emotional about it, but hey.... it's all good! :D

52. Meh, I'll rent the video
It's been pretty trashed here tonight. :shrug:

I'd like to see "Good Night and Good Luck" and maybe "North Country," but the video store I go to sucks, so I need to get a membership somewhere else first. Virtually every time I've gone in there intending to get a film THEY DON'T HAVE IT. 12 Monkeys? No. The Birds? No. Chinatown? No. Unforgiven? No.

It's pathetic.

68. It's the local video store
I hate to go to a mega chain, but dammit, one time I went in there with a list of like, 5 major films I wanted to see and they had ONE of them.

I only started going there because they were local, but then of course they moved across town, so now there's no video store I can get to without driving 20 minutes or getting on the freeway. :nopity:

I've heard mixed reviews on Netflix, but I usually rent movies on the spur of the moment, ya know?. :shrug:

For some reason they get the trash on the other side of the street on Monday, and our side on tuesday.

And I was all set to run out in my PJ's....

What would have been the real bummer is that the trash bin is stuffed with fence pickets at the moment, so we would have had nowhere to put NEW trash until next week. :P

I suspect I'm one of the few people who did not watch the awards. I really should have. There's a guy from this area that collaborated on a documentary. He was at the awards. Have to find out how it did.

Heard snowblowers at 4 a.m. this morning, so I look outside, and sure enough SNOW! So I get up at 4:30 to shovel my area. Ugh! I got my workout in for the day already.

Hope the plows are out in full force. Should be slow going again this morning. I think I'm ready for spring.

These neighbor is really nice, so I don't mind. They are the ones that feed my cat when I'm gone, and let me tell you Clint, it's not an easy task. My cat's old and is on three meds. She takes two with her food in the morning and one with her food at night. So they have to come over twice a day, just for my cat. Now those are the type of neighbors to have!

I've been to Florida, and it's a very nice state. Warm weather most of the time is quite enticing. And more would be an added bonus!

I'd be careful about returning sanity - it's a greatly overrated phenomenon, I certainly don't have any.

Hope that your new director isn't bad at all - my temporary boss is down here today, but I don't think that he's really going to try and manage me (managers who do that inevitably fail).

:donut: :hi: :hug:

Just checking in ... not on DU much these days. I don't know that song, but the title fits. We could use some good vibes/prayers/happy thoughts. harleydad's boss told him last week that if he moves, he won't have a job. For months, they've been telling him that he can telecommute. Lying bastards, all of them! The builder bailed on us also. Well, the house isn't sold yet, so at least we have some time to figure out our next move. We've sort of been in shock for several days.

I never watch the Academy Awards. I'm sorry it was a letdown. :hug:

116. Morning, Miss Airmens!
:hi::hug:
I'm glad to see you today, my dear! And I'm sorry for all the problems! Holey moley, what a mess! I hope everything works itself out and SOON. As far as the song goes, it is a really great country song I came across the other day. It has a lot of traditional country style to it, which makes it even better in my opinion, and the lyrics are great! Such as:

"If you're going through hell, keep on going, don't slow down, if you're scared don't show it, you might get out before the devil even knows you're there."

122. Those are great lyrics.
I don't listen to country music (harleydad says it'll break the sound system), so I don't know any songs except for It's Five O'clock Somewhere, which my 4-year-old grandson loves to sing. Anyway ... I'm not too good at the "don't show it" part.

Yes, it's a mess. I actually couldn't eat Saturday -- all day! I have a pretty healthy appetite, to that's very unusual. Yesterdady was a little better. I hope I can stay on the Morning Crew even if I don't show up for a while. If there's ANY good news, I'll be sure and let you know. :hug:

I have to go clean up the damn house now in case someone comes over ... even though we hardly ever get any action on Mondays. I hope you have a wonderful day off. Thank you for your cheerful morning threads. :loveya: :hug: :hi:
