A memory of Oscar night... Do you have your hat ready?

At the time there were only 3 channels and this was 'the' event of the year. Mom would tell her three daughters that she had her 'hat' picked out. It was a joke but one I never forgot. We always cherished the 'Oscars'.
Mom died in 1990. But today I sent my sisters a reminder: did you pick your hat out?
Here's mine for today:
