6. I don't know why some Negro League clubs
felt they needed "Black" or something in their name.

Black Barons. Black Sox. Black Yankees. Ebony Aces.

It's kind of like when women's prep and college team names are preceded with "Lady." Why aren't they just the Volunteers or whatever?

32. the reason for that was
at that time in many Negro League cities, they simply adopted the name of a recognized local white team...i.e., the New York Black Yankees...There was of course a white counterpart team...

There actually was a minor leage team (all-white) called the Atlanta Crackers...

The Birmingham Barons exist to this day and so on....

16. Sex? There's no sex.
There's no sex in baseball, there's no sex in IKEA, and there's really no sex in nuts and bolts. Check out Home Depot, you'll see.

28. I've had worse experiences with automotive electrical
Caught a coil arc once while setting the timing on my old Chevy. One second I was leaning over the fender, the next I was on my butt on the lawn.

And it's unwise to grab a timing-light inductor while it's on the plug cable and the engine is running. :silly:

30. It doesnt get much better than that Bertha. As for baseball addresses.
You grew up an Angel fan, I take it? Remember Bobby Knoop, Don Mincher, Rick Reichardt, Jose cardela and Bubba Morton?
For some reason, ever though I was in Boston, I loved the Angels and Dodgers back then.

Dean Chance won a Cy Young for the Angels too.

The other names are familiar. Remember Jimmie Reese? Lord... I'd go to games early just to watch him hit pepper and infield. Bless his heart. He was a roommate of Babe Ruth's; he was still in the dugout well into his late 80s.

It's hard to be a Halos fan on the East Coast. :sigh:
