Who else likes the wasabi buzz?
A friend served us sushi last night and he had the strongest wasabi I've ever had. What an experience that was. I loved it.

13. You're so right
I never thought of that, but it is a great name for a band. If only I played an instrument.

3. Asian horseradish
They pulverize into a paste that is served with the sushi as sashimi (just the raw fish, no rice) You can buy the powder in the grocery store and mix it with a little water.

It's hot, Hot, HOT! And fresh is out of the world HOT! And a very litte goes a long way.

I love it. You will definitely have no sinus problems after eating wasabi.

7. Wasabi is the reason for sushi addiction!
You've got tears in your eyes and your nose is running, but you MUST HAVE MORE.

9. I do!
I don't usually go for spicy food, but wasabi is more like a special effect - it blows up your face but doesn't overrun the taste of the food. :D

Went to the local sushi bar Friday night for the s.o.'s birthday, and WOW! Fresh wasabi! :woohoo:

14. Mmm, pain.
Horseradish, too. Fresh ground, though. The bottled stuff is usually only tangy. The key, I've found, to enjoying horseradish and wasabi without going into convulsions is to breathe in while you're eating it. Somehow, that disspates the real trauma while allowing one to enjoy the endorphin uh, pain. Works for me. My wife confirms it,too.

16. Danger - Wasabi sometimes looks like guacamole to the uninitiated!
I was in a sushi restaurant and witnessed a 73 year old member of our party reach out with a cracker and dip into the wasabi dish thinking it was something like guacamole...Cripes, I couldn't stop her in time and it totally destroyed her evening! Oh, she didn't die, but I think she would have chosen death over her discomfort. PAIN!
