Help - I want to buy an iPod for walking/jogging. What kind should
I get? I've never had one so I'm a bit clueless. Money is an issue so I can't just go off and get anything and everything.

What would you suggest?

1. Go for a nano.
Since they use solid state storage (rather than a hard drive) there are no moving parts, so 100% skip free. Also, they're much smaller than a regular ipod. And if you're just using it for jogging, you probably don't need a whole lot of storage.

2. Thanks for the advice. When would someone want a Shuffle?

3. A Shuffle could work for you too...

But it has lower capacity and doesn't have a screen, so you cant go directly to the song you might want, or whatever. Neither of which might matter, in which case, it might be a good option if you want to spend less.

4. I have a Nano and mostly use it when I work out
So far, no problems at all with skipping, and I love it.

6. Great. Thanks. I think that is what I'll get.
Is there anything else I should know - ala iPod for Dummies?

7. They're pretty easy to use.
Do you have a lot of songs you'll be copying from your own CDs or will you be purchasing them from iTunes? Either way, it's pretty easy, and the software comes with it. It takes a couple of hours for it to charge and you're good to go. :hi:

8. I have quite a few CD's I'll copy off of but I'd like to get a lot of new
tunes also. I'll have to figure that out.

9. It doesn't have to be an I-Pod
If you don't need alot of storage you can get almost any MP# player for alot less money than an I-Pod. I got a Creative Labs Zen Nano Plus as a gift for a friend and she loves it. I got the 1GB model which can hold 500 songs and it's very light also. Below is a link to amazon where you can pick one up for $90.

10. I love my mini...
even though it was replaced by the Nano and I had a personalized case made from Vaja. You can't go wrong with an iPod of any type. The great thing about it is the software...you can't beat iTunes. If you don't like buying songs from the store, go to your local library and pick up music that you enjoy or borrow CDs from your friends. It's against the law to share files, but no law against sharing CDs ;)
