Is anyone familiar with the Peebles chain of department stores?
They are building one a couple of miles from where I live. I've never heard of this chain. Are they similar to anything I may know, such as Target. Wally Mart, TJ Maxx, etc.?

3. Oh, that's good to know. The only store within 15 miles is K Mart.
So it will be good to have someplace else to shop.

5. Look for a gorilla sitting in the window...
with a 'for sale' sign. Gorilla's name is Magilla.

6. I only knew of them down South
There was one in my dad's hometown in southern VA. Just a department store. Primary clothing and some small goods.

I haven't been to one in years but for this particular community when I was a kid it was the local lifeline before K-mart, Wal-Mart, etc...
