CONFESS!! Who kept ALL their concert ticket stubs and STILL have them?
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 07:46 AM by matcom
:bounce:

still have EVERY concert ticket stub stashed up in a photo album in my attic.

probably 50 or 60 tickets from shows over the years. (yes that also includes the 12 Judas Priest stubs from my younger days.

WHY do i still keep them?

NO F*CKING IDEA but it was a thing to do back in the 80's (i guess).

who else? (or am i the only FREAK here) :D

my last one, the Rolling Stones at the Fleet Center last year, was kept in tact and the person I went with had them both laminated.

Judas Priest? You're so rugged.

3. Yes you are a freak, but not the only one here!
I have all mine in a small box, beginning with Pink Floyd in 1977 and going thru Brian Setzer Orchestra from about 2 years ago.

Should get a scrap book...

5. I still have most of mine
starting with 'The Who' in 1974 (or was it 1975? the 70's are kind of fuzzy) and soon to be adding David Bowie with dozens in between.

I've also got the ticket stub to the last game the Spurs ever played in Hemisfair Arena (playoff loss to the Suns and Charles *&*(&^()&^%$ Barkley).

I lost my Judas Priest ticket stub! x(

Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 08:17 AM by ET Awful
Starting in the early 80's right up 'til the last show Jerry played in California :) And no, I don't mean I went to every show :). Just ALOT of them.

9. Most every one
Weird, some are so faded I can't tell what they were - poor quality ink in the old days, I guess. So many of the best "concerts" I have seen were just club shows without tickets, though. I always tried to grab a poster in that case.

10. I still have most of them
I keep dropping hints to the marshmallow woman that I need a display case to store them in, before they crumble into dust.

13. Heavy Metal Parking Lot
Speaking of Judas Priest concerts, have you ever seen the video of "Heavy Metal Parking Lot"? It's pretty infamous on the underground...filmmaker Jeff Krulick filmed the audience outside a Judas Priest concert back in 1986...truly one of the funniest films EVER! He streams his vids now at <http://www.planetkrulik.com/films.htm> if you wanna check it out...

15. I only have one . . .
it's from the John Mayall concert at the Fillmore East at which he recorded the Turning Point album . . . it was actually the first real concert I ever attended, and I just walked in with a friend on a day that we happened to be strolling around the Village . . . my friend wanted to see the opening act, which was the Preservation Hall Jazz Band . . . and we stayed for Mayall's show . . . I keep the stub tucked in the CD . . . :)

19. Got most of mine and we're talking hundreds
Some of them are the cool old embossed kind from the 70's & 80's, remember those? From the pre-Tickemaster days when the venue issued their own? Some of them are fading though. I thought about scanning in some of the better ones (front row for Pink Floyd, Bowie, U2 etc.) to preserve the memory but haven't gotten around to it.

So no, you are in good freak company :-)

and sometimes it amazes the hell out of me that I've been to so many concerts. I've nearly quit going in the last 10 years though - it's so freakin' expensive now! I remember how PO'd I was in high school that Led Zeppelin was going to be $17. $17 for a concert?! (The going rate in those days was about $13.) The last time Peter Gabriel - my absolute favorite - was in town, I didn't even go, because it was $95 for the cheapest seats. Ticketmaster's monopoly has all but ruined the concert-going experience. Bastards. That being said, I'm going to one this Friday - The Funk Brothers are going to be in town!

Who have I seen most? REM, five times.

22. I do!!!
I keep them all in a big coffee mug!!! I have only lost 2 or 3 over the years. I also have several dozen concert shirts, including my first from back in 1981. :D

Concerts sure were cheap back then!
