World Baseball Classic...ok I have been sucked in...
I am really looking forward to this...

I know this is Bud Selig's brainchild, the man who nearly had my team contracted. But come on, how can you not like a tournament where one of the first games has Johan Santana pitching to Albert Pujols. I even watched the Korea - Chin. Taipei game last night...

1. I'm with Torii Hunter.........I think it's stupid.
Someone is going to get hurt. It won't be rainbows and rose pettles if Silva or Santana blow their rotator cuff or Justin Morneau takes another high hard one in the melon.

I would like it if it were at a different time. That being said, what other time is there?

2. You know...
Those things could just as easily happen in Spring training. There is a pitch count limit, and starters won't go more than 2 innings...just like spring training games.

3. Yeah, I know.
But you know the players will get more into these types of games than they would in Spring Training Pineapple games. They'll play harder and risk more injury.

Actually, on the bright side, if Johan Santana doesn't get hurt this will actually HELP him. It usually takes him until about a month before the all-star break to hit full stride. If he could get rolling earlier, he might win 22 games this year.

ALso, I wonder how Team USA will like Joe Nathan's 85 mph fastball. It won't hit the 90's until at least April.

4. Yeah those guys to take some time to warm up...
Santana looked pretty good last night though...for his first game! Nice to see some long ball too...Hunter, Mauer, and Ford all went deep.

I know there is some risk with the tournament, they will probably push themselves more than they normally would, but I am gonna try and not worry, and enjoy the games!!!

5. Yep, that's all you can do
I'm sure I'll watch all the Team USA games (and maybe some Canadian ones when they're on TV)

7. Damn, I am going to be out of town during round 4...
I know - it's just another all star game but this one sounds intriguing. And it's being played at my stadium. When I'm out of town.
