Big Thrill Coming For 12-Year-Old Granddaughter Today

My granddaughter is 12, going on 13. I am going to pick her up when she gets off school today, around 3:30. I called her last night and asked if she could give me a hand, for about an hour and a half. on something I have to do. I was vague as hell about what it was. She agreed of course.

What she doesn't know is that a couple of days ago I made arrangements for her to take an "Introductory Flight" at the local airport. What this means is she will be given a bit of instruction on the very basics of how an airplane flys, see all the parts on a small aircraft (152), get in, make her first flight, and most important of all, she will fly the airplane. She has never set foot in an airplane in her life up to this moment. This should get her attention.

I did the same thing for my son almost 20 years ago. It cost me $25 back then. Its only going to set me back about twice that much today. Well worth the money.
