There are two males and one woman being interviewed. After all three have gone through an extensive questioning period each is asked to go into a separate room for a "real life" training scenario.
The first man is given a gun and told that behind the door is his wife, and that in order to succeed he must be able to kill her. He is instructed to do so. He looks at the gun reluctantly, and breaks down.
"I could never dream of killing my wife." he states
"Well, then you are not the man for this position. Thank you." states one of the CIA officials.
His gun is taken back and he is ushered out of the building.
The second man is given the same gun and told the same scenario. He must kill his wife who is sitting in a chair behind the door. The man takes the bun and enters the room. After two minutes he returns.
"I couldn't kill her. I tried. I stood behind her with the gun pointed at her head, but I just could not bring myself to kill her. I'm sorry" He said.
"Well, then you are not the man for this position. Thank you." stated the CIA official.
The second man's gun is relinquished and he is ushered out of the building.
Finally, the woman is given the gun and told that behind the door is her husband, and that in order to succeed she must be able to kill him. The woman takes the gun and enters the room. The door closes behind her. After about 30 seconds, gunshots ring out in the room. Then, the CIA Officials hear a lot of rustling and loud banging. After 5 minutes of this, the door opens and the woman emerges. She is sweating profusely and has blood on her shirt.
"What happened in there? Were you able to succeed in your mission?" asked one of the officials.
"Yes" she responded. "But the gun you gave me had blanks in it, so I had to beat him to death with the chair."
