I did it! I bought a new TV!

Yay!

It's one of those things where you do all kind of research, look up statistics online, view each and every TV you researched, and then finally, you go to buy the one you deem best, and instead of buying it, you decide at the last moment to buy one you know absolutely nothing about.

I went into Circuit City with the intention of getting a 32" RCA TV--a regular one, whose weight was in the stratosphere of 150lbs. I was going to have it delivered because there was no way I was going to lift that. While looking around the rest of the TVs, I saw this one HDTV at a rather affordable price, and the picture was gorgeous--almost as bright as a plasma or LCD, and sharp as well. So that's where I decided my TV allowance should go. It was lighter, the picture was superb, and the only major difference (other than a ton of weight!) was the one I had wanted was a 32"--this was a 27" instead.

So now I have an HDTV Samsung 27" TV. I researched it the moment I got it home and it's got fairly decent reviews by the sources I looked at. It's still sittting in the car--I probably won't be able to bring it up and install it for a couple of days, but that's okay--I'm happy with it. I also called DirecTV and ordered the HD package. It's going to be a little bit more a month, but that's okay. It will be worth it to get all those extra HDTV channels!
